Week 1 covers sources and eligibility, Week 2 a mini artefact, Week 3 feedback and safety, Week 4 a second version and application file.

Without an open call, the board prepares for the future; with an open call, add exact deadlines and owners.

The 4 competition/project entries in this centre do not serve the same purpose. For example, Preparing for TEKNOFEST 2026 Competitions and TÜBİTAK 2204-B Middle-School Research Project Guide differ in age, preparation time, individual/team work and expected evidence. Sorting cards only by open or closed status is therefore insufficient.

Choose three candidates for a comparison exercise: Preparing for TEKNOFEST 2026 Competitions, TÜBİTAK 2204-B Middle-School Research Project Guide, TÜBİTAK 2204-A High-School Research Project Guide. For each, record eligibility, weekly time, travel or internet needs, required learner work, data-safety risks and post-application obligations. Do not punish an unknown field with a zero score; mark it to be verified.

In a second round, record the learner's genuine preference in a separate column. An opportunity that looks strong to an adult should not score highly if it relies on an unwanted mode of work, intensive travel or an unsustainable time burden. Learner preference also does not override official eligibility and safety.

Reopen the centre at month end. Update changed opportunities, carry closed calls into next-year preparation and select completed artefacts for the portfolio. The centre then operates as a monthly decision and production board rather than a random link list.

TEKNOFEST, 2204-A/2204-B and the Science Olympiads do not assess the same form of achievement. TEKNOFEST may emphasise a problem, user, design, prototype and team evidence; 2204 projects a research question, method, data and limitations; olympiads deep conceptual knowledge and clearly written problem strategies.

A learner does not need to prepare for every competition in one term. Someone who enjoys research but is not ready for team and prototype pressure may begin with a small 2204-style pilot. A learner who enjoys long problem sessions can try olympiad questions. Someone interested in users, design and presentation can examine TEKNOFEST categories.

Choose the mode of work before choosing the calendar. Complete one four-week trial that resembles the selected mode, then assess curiosity, sustainability, independent contribution and safety together. A good result alone is not sufficient evidence for continuing.

The monthly competition portfolio should contain more than a ranking or admission letter. Keep the learner's first question draft, rejected solution, test result, references, team-role record and second version together. These can inform a future competition but must not be copied without checking the new rules.

A supervisor or parent should ask questions and protect safety rather than produce the result. Questions such as 'Which data supports this result?', 'Could there be another explanation?' and 'What would change if we repeated the work?' build stronger research habits than a polished presentation alone.
