CLOSING A PERIOD

What the photographs show—and what they do not

This gallery contains selected photographs from the close of the 2022–2026 middle-school period. Publication of the selected images is approved. The page does not disclose the precise event date, location, attendee list, document numbers or a future school.

A graduation photograph cannot show an entire four-year learning process. The gallery is therefore presented as a transition point in a verified education timeline, not as achievement evidence by itself. Learning evidence belongs in the education journey, journal and project records.

PHOTO USE

Purpose and reuse boundaries

Approval to publish a photograph does not grant unlimited use for every purpose. These images are used for the graduation story in this student portfolio; they are not supplied for facial-recognition datasets, advertising profiles, third-party profiling or unrelated narratives.

Images should not expose other people’s faces, private school documents, an address, student number or contact information. If the selection changes later, the removal or replacement date should be recorded in the page version.

ACCESSIBILITY

Alt text describes function rather than assigning emotion

Alternative text does not assign emotions such as “pride”, “elegance” or “peace” that cannot be known from the image. It gives a brief description of the visible situation and the image’s role on the page.

Gallery buttons should work with a keyboard. The viewer should close with Escape, provide previous and next controls and return focus to the opening card after closing. These behaviours are rechecked in accessibility tests.

TRANSITION FILE

Learning records after graduation

Graduation closes a period without settling the future. The next education step is added to the verified timeline only when a suitable record exists.

  • Select one independent learning artefact from the period.
  • Record one recurring error and a method that helped reduce it.
  • Define the sport, sleep and study rhythm to protect in the next period.
  • Do not publish an unconfirmed school or programme.
  • Write one measurable next project or research question.

RETURN AND REVIEW

Annual review of the photo selection

The photograph page is reviewed at least once a year. The review asks whether each image is still necessary for the same purpose, whether other people or new personal details have become visible, and whether alternative text continues to describe the image’s function accurately.

Every copy of a photograph on this site — including thumbnails and different sizes — is governed by the same publication decision. When an image is removed, it is removed everywhere, together with derivatives such as the social-sharing image.

The purpose of a graduation archive is not to add more personal detail as time passes. It balances enough information to support the verified timeline with limits that protect the learner’s future privacy.

  • Annual purpose and necessity review
  • Alt-text and visibility-of-others check
  • Manage all image derivatives together
  • Version record for removal or replacement
PRACTICAL CHECK

Gallery publication checklist

Each gallery image needs three separate records: source and publication approval, its purpose on the page and functional alternative text. A file existing in an image folder does not mean it should remain public.

The gallery does not add a feature encouraging download or reuse. Although a browser-visible image cannot be made impossible to copy, the site avoids publishing an unnecessary high-resolution personal archive or extra metadata.

  • Source and approval
  • Defined publication purpose
  • Functional alt text
  • Exclude unnecessary high resolution
  • Check image metadata
